Wallsend has a medium frequency transport system with buses into the CBD and to surrounding suburbs. It has high accessibility to the F3 freeway and large roads linking to the city.
Newcastle Airport is one of Australia’s fastest growing airports with more than 1.1 million passenger movements in 2010. It has direct flights to and from Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra, Gold Coast and Melbourne with other routes in the planning.
The Sydney to Newcastle F3 freeway goes right past Wallsend. The freeway is being expanded to go to the hunter Valley with construction of the $1billion Hunter Expressway.
